There comes a time to reveal a trade secret. Longevinex® has combined resveratrol + vitamin D in its patented formula for many years now. It is only recently becoming known that these two fat-soluble nutrients synergize each other, revealing why Longevinex® has exceeded the biological activity of plain resveratrol by many fold in lab dish and animal experiments.
Sunshine produces vitamin D in the skin which is converted to its active form (calcitriol) in the kidneys. A doorway for vitamin D to exert its effects inside cells is called the VITAMIN D RECEPTOR, a protein that controls target genes inside cells. The Vitamin D Receptor binds to the active form of vitamin D (calcitriol) and regulates genes.
RESVERATROL (rez-vare-ah-trol), known as a red wine molecule, combines with vitamin D and targets many of the same genes as vitamin D.
Vitamin D also works to enhance resveratrol, improving its absorption by 34-220% in one experiment while the quantity of vitamin D in blood plasma was also increased. So resveratrol and vitamin D work mutually to produce optima biological effects.
Resveratrol is known to reduce the size of a heart attack. The amount of scarred tissue is minimized due to resveratrol activating protective internal antioxidants prior to a heart attack. When resveratrol is combined with vitamin D this heart-protective effect is enhanced even further. Longevinex® has been demonstrated to reduce scarring of heart tissue after a heart attack in a superior manner to plain resveratrol, and now it becomes apparent vitamin D plays a role in producing that protective effect.
Here are bullet points that extol the combined action of vitamin D + resveratrol:
